The Tokoroa airfield NZTO was closed to full-sized aviation on Sunday so we had it all to ourselves for flying our RC planes. Unfortunately, not all full-sized pilots got the memo so we did have one plane attempt to land -- despite NOTAMs and despite the white crosses clearly placed at the end of the runway.
Ah well, these things happen :-)
Ron flew his un-canard and his Spacewalker (note that the rudder servo locked up on takeoff giving the model full right and he was very lucky to keep it in the air and land it).
Tim flew his nitro trainer and his IBIS gas plane.
Chris (from iForce2D) came over and flew his Mini Talon and own-design miniquad.
Scott and family came from Rotorua and did some miniquad flying but lost his HD recording camera when it fell from the model.
Neil was thrashing his Blackout miniquad and John from Matamata gave his Tundra an airing.
All in all, a stonking good time was had by all!
