Why it's not a good idea to fly your AXN RC plane with missing motor magnets
It's common knowledge that the motors on the AXN Floater RC plane sometimes suffer from loose or lost magnets. I figured I'd just keep flying until the motor lost a few more magnets and became too weak.
Bad idea.
A few flights later, the motor jammed up -- which overloaded the speed controler and caused it to to overheat. Fortunately it "blew" just as I was landing so I was able to get to the model and unplug the battery before it caught fire.
Moral of the story: If your AXN motor throws a magnet, replace it before things get worse!
Love those AXNs though! :-)
