In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew demonstrates the potential use of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) to inspect wind turbine rotors for possible damage. Heading out to the Columbia River Gorge, the crew battles 40-mile-per-hour winds to maneuver RQCX-3 "Raven" up alongside a 17,000-pound rotor blade to capture video and still images of an unidentified spot that could indicate potential damage.
