Several of you pointed out that spinning a prop in the opposite direction of its normal rotation will not generate identical thrust. There's quite a bit of loss. So I conjured up a 3D printed rig that allowed me to do a proper test and the results are impressive. I saw a 30 - 40% boost in thrust. This video shows the difference.
