In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Lucy Chen about the Walkera QL1200 hybrid gas-electric drone. It is equipped with a 30x optical zoom camera as well as a gasoline engine, which can power the aircraft for a two-hour flying time while carrying a payload of five kilograms. The drone has been created to fulfill long endurance missions such as infrastructure inspection, agriculture, border security and maritime applications. The QL1200 is capable of operating in extreme cold environments that would not be possible using conventional, battery-powered multirotors.
