Kevin Pearce was a champion snowboarder, he liked his sport extreme, fit, fast, and frightening. But a love of extreme sport can come at a high price.
The Crash Reel follows his journey from an ambitious 8-year-old snowboarder to the top of his sport, to an incident that would change his life forever at just 22. He suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was training for the Winter Olympics.
The film was a hit at Sundance, and Kevin Pearce is in Australia in support of the film's screenings in Sydney and Melbourne. It will also be released on DVD by Hopscotch Films to coincide with Brain Injury Awareness Week in August.
