I have a stack of RC gear here that people have sent me to repair and today I'm fixing a Turnigy 9X which accidentally had the battery connected backwards.
Surprisingly, it's a pretty simple repair that requires little more than a $65 hot-air reflow station and a couple of dollars worth of new parts.
If you can build and fix an RC plane then you can almost certainly fix your own RC gear if or when you blow it up :-)
