Another unusual aircraft arrived at NZTO in Tokoroa this week -- a Zenith CH701 STOL plane. Although we didn't get to see an example of its short takeoff capabilities, the pilot tells us that it will leave the ground in as little as 30m with a slight head-wind -- which is very impressive.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this aircraft is the rather "rudimentary" construction and "function over form" aspect of the design.
