The Turnigy 9XR Pro costs almost twice as much as the old 9XR but is it twice the radio?
I would really love to like this radio but I'm having trouble. Don't get me wrong, nobody who buys this radio is likely to be disappointed -- but there is much better value out there, even in the form of the original 9X.
I'm somewhat disappointed because few of the complaints leveled at the original 9XR have been addressed. Instead, they've forgotten about ergonomics and focused on bullet-points for the brochure.
Yes, there are features galore in this radio - but for only a small amount of extra money the FrSky Taranis offers a whole lot more *useful* functionality and is ready to work straight out of the box. By comparison, the 9XR Pro requires a bunch of "extras" to make it work and even then, it doesn't come close to the Taranis.
