Yuneec Typhoon 4K Drone Unboxing, Setup and Flight Testing
In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew unboxes, sets up and tests the Q500 4K quadcopter from Yuneec. Equipped with an integrated CGO3 4K video camera mounted in a ball-turret-style three-axis gimbal, the Q500 is a purpose-built aerial camera platform. The video is streamed to the pilot by a screen that is built in to the ST10 control transmitter, which also provides aircraft telemetry. The camera can be quickly disconnected from the aircraft and attached to the included Steadygrip for ground-based operations. The crew compares the aircraft's performance in “tortoise” and “hare” mode (also known as “turtle” and “rabbit” mode), provides a close-up look at the camera gimbal in action and wraps up with a demonstration of the Typhoon's GPS-enabled “Watch Me” mode by bicycling around a nature park and also engages a hidden Attitude Mode, allowing for more aggressive maneuvers.
