Plans and laser cut kits are available for the Gemini V-2 at our website:
This was our first Auto-takeoff with the Gemini V-2 using Pixhawk.
We are working on Auto-landing as well, but have not finished the setup yet. We hope to have more for you in the near Future.
We will be going to Africa for a few weeks as part of a wildlife conservation project using UAV's, and should have some awesome material to share when we return, so stay tuned for that very soon!
Auto takeoff for Pixhawk uses the compass heading for alignment, and holds the heading until a few meters off of the ground, at which point it begins gps and compass based navigation.

We have found the Pixhawk setup to be a steep learning curve for someone with little technical background, and recommend that unless you are tolerant to failure, and many hours of frustrating setup problems, you purchase an airframe that is already setup and proven for pixhawk. That way you can use an existing param. file that someone has already developed, and tested for your model.
This will cut out much of the frustration involved, and make for a better experience.
