The basics of old-school high voltage probes that are used with multimeters, VTVMs and DMMs. The basic theory of operation, construction and use of these probes is presented. Some cautions about some unexpected behavior of modern DMMs is also presented. PLEASE NOTE: HIGH VOLTAGE CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE ANY HIGH VOLTAGE MEASUREMENTS IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
