23-го ноября 2009-го года было представлено новое поколение BMW 5-ой серии. Машина получила новые обозначение кузова - F10 для версии в кузове седан и F11 для версии в кузове универсал. По сравнению с предыдущей моделью в F10 внесено множество усовершенствований.
