RFTC: Flying FPV at Night with a FLIR Thermal Imaging Camera
In this video, the Roswell Flight Test Crew mounts a FLIR thermal imaging camera on RQCX-3 "Raven" and flies FPV after dark at a local community park. Rather than visible light, the FLIR "sees" heat signatures radiated from different objects and translates that into video. Also included is a side-by-side comparison between the thermal imaging camera and a GoPro 2, demonstrating its effectiveness as a night vision system.
