Four giant statues of Ramses the Great make a tremendous impact on the visitor at this famous temple, along with a second temple honoring his favorite wife Nefertari. These colossal temples were rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser created by construction of the Aswan Dam for us to enjoy today.
