Which is the Best Color Palette for Thermal Imaging?
In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Dave Lee of FLIR Systems, Inc., about the company's new products – the FLIR Vue Pro and the Zenmuse XT, developed through a partnership with DJI – both of which allow users to change color palettes while flying. The color palette the user selects will determine how the thermal data gathered by the camera is displayed as a visual image. Lee explains that different color palettes are best suited for different tasks. A palette well suited for search and rescue may not be ideal for inspecting solar panels, for example. Choosing the right color palette determines how easy, or difficult, it is to identify details in a thermal image.
