CES 2015 First Look: Virtuix Omni VR Treadmill - Allows for actual walking in VR environments

So we have the Oculus Rift on the way which holds the potential to finally provide a real virtual reality experience. But how real will it feel to "walk" in a virtual environment while you're physically sitting down?
The Virtuix Omni tries to solve that problem by creating a 360 degree "treadmill" that works with special shoes that slip on the metal surface at the base. Sensors on the shoes register foot movement and they're able to map that into the game.
Intro pricing is $499 now, and $699 after February 1. The Oculus rift is not included. Sorry :).
