Riding high after a fourth-place finish on day 1 of the rally, Bryce and Pete prepare to keep the momentum going for day 2.  Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, and a major crash forces the end of rally for the two American hopefuls.  Bruised but unbowed, the two reflect on what happened and vow to return to the Dakar Rally in 2019. 
Widely known as the toughest race in the world, the Dakar Rally is a brutal two-week off-road race that spans thousands of miles through South America.  American off-road racer Bryce Menzies, a veteran of some of the most grueling races in the United States and Mexico, including the Baja 1000, Baja 500 and Mint 400, had set his sights on competing in the 2017 edition of the race, but multiple injuries forced him to bow out.  Physically healed and more mentally determined than ever, Menzies will make his way to the race start in Lima, Peru determined to capture in 2018 what eluded him in 2017.  This five-part series will follow him throughout the 14 days of racing in Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.
