Overall I thought this was a well constructed set from a hardware perspective but it's not enough fun to justify the $200 price tag. It requires a compatible smartphone to operate which adds a bit of clunkiness to the overall setup.
Still it's fun for a little while. The lightsaber tracks fairly nicely in AR, with the virtual blade lining up well with the top of the physical lightsaber most of the time. But the headset feels front heavy and will get uncomfortable over long stretches of gameplay.
The game itself has some depth to it but it's not all hack and slash. There's a virtual chess mode along with a realtime strategy mode as well. Unfortunately some of these less than fun game modes are required to progress through the rest of the game.
Ultimately those looking for a VR experience should invest in a VR headset that will run more than just one game. Lenovo is not promising there will be any other software made available for this hardware.
This might be something to wait until after the holidays to purchase as the price may come down by then.
