I finally pulled the trigger on a 3DR Solo. Many have asked about getting DronePan working with the Solo and so I'm starting to take a look at the feasibility of doing this. This video shows some of my initial research into DroneKit and so far I've been very impressed. It's definitely more open than the DJI SDK and in my opinion, much easier to get up and running. I plan on making the Android code open source so that we can get the drone developer community involved.
