Maiden Flight of the Beaver. We managed to get a brief break in the rain and stormy weather that we had been having. Rushed to the field, put her together and up she went. Shaky camera work and dark, overcast skies didn't make for the best video but at least we got the maiden in, found out she could fly and didn't crash her as has been the fate of some others on their maiden flights of this model.
Next time out, we'll put her to the test and see what she is capable of. We still think that the tip stalls and ground loops that this model is infamous for are caused by trying to fly the plane too slow at take off and when making the final turn to approach (especially with the flaps deployed). We'll have some fun flirting with those issues on future videos.
