We sit down for a chat with Fon Davis, a visual effects veteran who has worked on films like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, Galaxy Quest, Mission: Impossible III, among many others. Fon was a colleague of Adam's at the ILM model shop, and has since started his own effects studio to carry on his practical effects practice. We discuss the state of visual effects in film, the resurgence of interest in practical effects, and how model-making techniques are shared in the hobbyist and professional communities.
