If you want to get faster, you have to keep on the throttle and make your quad go as fast as it can. If you aren't hitting full throttle, why not? Perhaps the throw in your stick is too far and you're having problems reaching it. If so, the Frsky M9-R short throw gimbal may be the answer. I'm trying to fly faster in our races to better compete and I'm really hoping this will help. I've tested it at a couple of pratices and so far, I really like it. It is easy to reach full throttle now.
