One year ago, just two waves into his first heat of the 2015 Volcom Pipe Pro, Leonardo Fioravanti went over the falls on a Pipeline set wave and disappeared underwater with the cascading lip. A few tense seconds later, and Fioravanti emerged in obvious pain, requesting help from the water patrol. There was no telling, at that moment, the severity of his injury. Not very many guessed that moment would end Fioravanti's winter and drastically impact the next year of his young life.
