Elanview Cicada Unboxing, Setup and Testing
In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew tries out the Elanview Cicada from Hobbico, a new drone with a fixed HD video camera, controlled via WiFi using a smartphone app, available for iOS and Android devices. An “inverted” quadcopter, with the rotors located below the main body of the aircraft and the motors, it comes with propeller guards pre-installed that also serve as its landing skids. It incorporates a GPS receiver for position hold during outdoor flying. The smartphone app provides a view from the on-board camera, albeit with significant latency, as well as three control modes and three levels of input sensitivity.
