Micro brushless quads seems to be a trending topic during the last few months. They are light, fast, enjoyable, easy to carry, cheap to maintain and relatively cheap to buy - especially if you are just starting out flying FPV.
The Aurora 100 shares the name and some components with two smaller, ducted BNF quads, the Aurora 90 and the Aurora 68. But it is a completely different flyer.
It runs 1104 sized 7500kV motors on 2035 props, without ducts. It is lightweight and low profile. It performs great right out of the box and packs a lot of punch for its price.
It is also powerful enough to easily carry larger batteries for fast cruising, such as my 2S 950mah nanotech batteries.
I have been enjoying this one a lot but will definitely switch to a better frame right away (already ordered).
The downsides (all fixed in this video) are:
The cloverleaf antenna, which will easily get smashed from the first few crashes. Also the signal is obscured by the frame.
The camera mount, which relies on a sticky pad.
The Rx antenna, which is loose and can catch on the props.
There are some reports for the quad flipping randomly and without control, after a roll/flip. I did not encounter this issue with the FrSky version I used, not even once.
The main purpose of this video is to improve the durability of the Aurora 100 with some basic mods, while keeping the weight low.
