The problem I had was that the camera was not outputting a video signal via the supplied USB cable to I had to figure out how to change the settings on the device. This short video shows you how.
You can download the software from /
I've been using a GoPro to record and transmit the video from FPV flights but for the smaller quads it is simply too big and heavy. Using a ground based recorder is fine but bulky and you lose resolution as you don't record on the aircraft, but only at the resolution sent to the ground-station or goggles.
I've been looking for a camera that had decent optics and field of view and that could record in HD as well as output a video signal that could be used for FPV. After a lot of looking I've purchased one of these keychain cameras - model 808#16 V2. For a full review of the camera and it's abilities search on YouTube, there are lots of great videos.
The best place to order one of these from is eBay. Make sure it's the V2 version and has the 120 degree lens for FPV.
This camera comes with a nice wide lens, decent optics and an ability record in HD, crucially it does output a composite video signal so you can fly and record at the same time and not lose any detail on the recording. The other advantage is that it also costs less than £30 so it's not a disaster if I have a motor/ESC failure when flying and smash it into the ground!

Happy flying!
