BEST FOR LESS: Racerstar 8520 coreless motors - Review & Thrust Test (8.5x20mm brushed motors)
I have been waiting so patiently for these motors to arrive..
I received them a few hours ago and rushed to install them in a temporary build. Flight was great, both on 55mm and on 65mm props.
They have a lot of grunt and are definitely a worthy alternative to the Chaoli 820, combining looks and performance at a competitive price.
Preliminary testing was done in my unfinished thrust rig. At the moment it is far from scientific and not extremely accurate but it allows for lot of clearance underneath the quad and testing of all 4 motors carrying actual all-up-weight.
I prefer such results, than testing just one motor on regulated constant power or by strapping a quad right on top of a scale. I see it like a closer-to-real-world bench test.

Batteries used for the test: Turnigy Nano-Tech 1s 300mah 45-90C, fully charged before every run.
Props used for test: Gemfan 65mm and Ladybird 55mm, both brand new.
