As evinced by AMA's recently announced partnership with DJI and sponsorship of the Roswell Flight Test Crew, Hanson sees the organization stepping up to take on a leadership role in the unmanned aircraft systems industry, primarily in the field of education. He highlights the UAS4STEM program, which involves students in building and flying the Quadzilla drone in a series of regional competitions,leading to a national event held at AMA headquarters in Muncie, Indiana. He also describes the AMA's role in helping to promote the use of drones by public safety.
