Synced vs. Unsynced Multishot: Does it make motors smoother?

Some people claim that running Multishot in unsynced mode results in smoother sounding motors, because unsynced mode doesn't have the "jitter" (small variations in looptime) that synced mode has. Let's test that hypothesis for ourselves!
