ProDrone Heavy-Lift Quad Folds Up Super Small
In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Nicolia Wiles of ProDrone about the company's new product: the Byrd quadcopter. Capable of lifting mirrorless and DSLR cameras weighting up to four pounds, the Byrd folds up into a compact shape that could easily fit in a normal backpack. The aircraft receiver can integrate with Sony cameras, allowing the pilot to operate an optical zoom lens. The Byrd is powered by a 7,000 mAH, four-cell Lithium-Polymer battery and comes complete with a small payload container that can be remotely triggered to drop from the drone. The ground station receives live video from the aircraft, which is displayed on the user's smart phone or tablet. It also includes auto-takeoff and auto-landing controls.
