Over a decade of releases, Darren Cunningham has built a reputation as a fine creator of cerebral abstract techno, or R&B concrète, crafting pulsing kickdrums, jittering percussion and chopped sample loops into churning, rumbling tracks soaked in static. The founder of Werk Discs has flitted between electro, hip hop, house and techno, never once ceasing to excite and innovate. His most recent project, the finely curated Boiler Room and the London Contemporary Orchestra collaboration saw him debuting freshly made, brooding electronica alongside the renowned classical group.
