This is a pre-production sample of the new RunCam HD high-definition recording video camera specially designed for RC planes, helis and multirotors.
Pro's:
- excellent RF shielding means very little noise on UHF
- image sharpness seems excellent, on par with the Mobius
- uses the low-drag Mobius form-factor
- silver will be easier to find in the long grass
- claimed 90+ minutes of recording time (to be verified)
- playback function (to be verified)
- live video out (PAL/NTSC), latency to be tested in part 2
Con's:
- default configuration produces multiple small files with overlap
- configuration software doesn't work on my PC
- fit of the case was somewhat uneven (gaps)
In Part 2 I will endeavor to get the configuration software working so as to set the camera to the same parameters as the Mobius and then do a side-by side comparison.
