Decided to order a Balsa plane kit from my friends at Mountain models.com, the switchback is a balsa kit that is laser cut that builds fast and true with very little work, thin and medium CA are required and some basic tools like sandpaper and a x-acto knife and iron on film are required.
The Switchback™ Sport has a larger flat bottom wing than the Switchback™ 3D. It has more sedate flying characteristics but still has plenty of performance. With an all up weight of under 12 ounces and powered by the GWS EPS300 Speed 300 motor, This plane will still tear up the skies. Inverted flight, rolls, outside loops are all part of its repertoire.
The only difference between the Sport and GT versions is the wing. Wing kits can be purchased separately so you can convert from one plane to the other easily.
As with all our planes, the Switchback™ is laser cut and is simple to assemble. All the parts are notched for easy alignment. The extensive builders manual is filled with photos documenting each building step.
