We visited Yosemite National Park for two days in early May 2019 - locals said the water was running harder than they could ever remember. (Come Summer, the waterfalls basically dry up). You will get WET but it's worth it!! and no mosquito's!
Stayed in El Portal both nights. Book well in advance.
Day 1: We hiked the MIST TRAIL passed Vernal Falls and up to Nevada Falls - then to avoid crowds back down we hiked down the John Muir Trail (which is supposed to be dry - but was definitely not). We drove out to Tunnel View for the famous Ansel Adams view and then hiked up to the secret unmarked ARTIST POINT (that you can find if you research! WORTH IT!!) We were there for an hour and no one came.
Day 2: Yosemite Falls Hike, not all the way to the top, but to the best view of upper Yosemite falls and half dome (.5 miles beyond Columbia Rock). We spent an hour on the valley floor and then went to Tunnel view again for sunset and then drove out to Oakhurst to see the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia's the next day!
(Glacier Point Rd and the Half Dome cables are still closed to snow, but you can catch views from all over without needing access to these areas.)
