This video is intended for beginners or those new to this lifestyle of learning about macronutrients and calories. It is very basic information but will lead into a part two and three which will help break down an understanding of how to track your macros if you are looking to gain weight or lose weight. (Bulking / Cutting)
Macronutrients! - The nutrients that provide calories or energy. They are needed for growth, metabolism, and other body functions. Macro means "large" and these are the nutrients we need in large amount.
The three macronutrients are:
Protein Carbohydrates and Fats
***FIber is technically considered a macronutrient, but this is something we should focus on getting enough of each day, rather than meticulously tracking it.
*Note
Although macronutrients are extremely important, they are not the only thing we need in our diet. Micro and Phytonutrients are extremely important as well, but that will be for other videos!
