RFTC: Parrot eXom Industrial Aerial Imaging Quadcopter at 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES)
In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew hears from Andrea Halter of Parrot about the company's new quadcopter: the eXom. Built specifically for professional applications, such as infrastructure inspection and other civil engineering work, it incorporates a ring of cameras and ultrasonic proximity sensors to help avoid collisions and maintain situational awareness. It also includes a gimbal-mounted sensor head capable of capturing high-definition video, thermal imagery and still photographs, with an included photo strobe. The eXom is fully capable of flying autonomously, or with direct or indirect control from a ground-based pilot.
