Hey guys, this is Jack and welcome to my next Liftoff Simulator video. Now in this video, I'll be going over a few settings that you can tweak to get your drone set up to fly a lot more realistically and on par with the performance of the Racing Drone of Lift RC. I'll also be telling you what you can do to stand a chance to win 1 of 3 steam keys to try this simulator yourself. But first, I have some epic news to share with you all.
You most likely noticed that I had a different intro to this video and that's what this announcement is all about. I am extremely excited to say that I got sponsorship from Lift RC and that I'll have an actual drone to fly hopefully sometime in the next month. I can't put in words how excited I am about this and truly cant wait to start sharing the tons of content I have planned for you all. This is seriously amazing of them to help me out and I cant exclaim enough how grateful I am for this sponsorship. If you guys have a free second, checkout their website at www.liftrc.com. They stock only the best drone hardware on the market and their freestyle and racing frames are absolutely killer too. If you think that it's a bold statement to call their frames the best on the market then checkout this video by one of their team pilots Matty Stuntz where he pushes the Lift Race frame to the next level. You can click on this link onscreen and it'll open the video in a new tab so that you can check it out after this one. The Freestyle frame from Lift RC is also the most bomb proof frame on the market, so i'f you're scared of damaging your precious GoPro, I would definitely recommend you checkout their freestyle frame; this is the exact frame that I will be flying.
Alright, so, before we get to the settings set up, let's giveaway a few steam codes for Liftoff. Firstly, a big shoutout to the developers of Liftoff which have been extremely helpful with many comments and questions I had regarding the simualtor and for hooking me up to give away these steam keys. All you have to do is follow the link on screen and there will be 6 different ways to enter the giveaway. I will do the draw at random on December 15th and announce the winners on my Twitter page. I'll also send the winners an email with the Steam Key so that you can download Liftoff straight away.
Finally, let's get to setting up and tuning this quad to fly like the Lift RC Race frame. Now, these settings were given to me by the founders of Lift RC after they have been experimenting with the tuning themselves. These aren't just settings and tuning which I so happen to stumble onto, they were tried and tested by the pro's and the feedback was that it is very very similar to the real deal. Firstly, we want to go into workbench and edit some of the components on the quad. Let's click on the camera to bring up the camera angle. We want to slide this angle to 40 degrees. After this we want to change out the motors to the Cobra Pro 2300kv 280w. Moving onto the props we want to equip the propfan 5054 carbons and then finally for the battery we want to select the 1300 milliamp hour performance battery. Next we want to adjust the settings. So, to change the settings of your quad, you want to be in a game ready to fly and then hit the escape key to bring up the pause menu. From this, you want to go into the Flight Control Settings. Now the rates we want set as follows, the pitch and roll rates at 500degrees per second and the yaw rate at 360. Moving on to the max angles we wont be changing anything because we're not flying in stabilize mode. The next section is where we'll change the Exponents values and these will be at 1 for the throttle and at 1.5 for pitch, roll and yaw. Next is the rate PID's. For the Pitch, we'll have 15 as the proportional, zero as the integral since we don't have any outside forces such as wind in the game acting on the quad and lastly we'll have the derivative at 0.2. For the roll, we'll copy these exact tunings as in pitch. To finish off with the yaw, well have the proportional set at 20, the integral at 0 and the derivative at 0. Now we won't be touching the PID's for stabilize mode because we'll only be flying in Acro. So to end off the final setting for this, we'll put the max RPM at 30000. And that's it, your quad is now ready to shred some gates and trees...
