It is absolutely crucial to have code words and/or a secret language while travelling with friends. While abroad you'll find yourself being offered different packages, deals, and what not from the locals... sometimes they will be pushy, sometimes they will try and take advantage of you, and sometimes they will make you feel uncomfortable. We realized there was a need for us to all be on the same page when one person doesn't feel safe or comfortable. So, we either speak French or use special code words, like "green banana" that signals to the others that something is up and we don't like it. We highly recommend you do the same!!
