Well kids- Here it is! The maiden flight...
The swirling winds didn't help my nerves... as you can see these were not ideal conditions to maiden an airplane much less get it trimmed out.
My early online manual had no suggestions for control surface throws, so I was flying with the Dual Rate for Aileron and Elevator on gain knobs. I started the flight with 100% and ended with about 50% throws and 30% expo. I know now that I could go a lot lower with my rates.
This is an amazing airplane in the air and on the ground. I know on a less windy day it will fly like a pussycat.
I landed the airplane in the dirt because I am not used to being at official runways that keep the pilots far from the runway
