Welcome to my review of the 2017 edition of Sphero's amazing BB-8 App-Enabled Droid!
This year's version of BB-8 comes with an all new (and highly useful) piece of hardware called the Droid Trainer—an interesting device that allows BB-8 to roll and roll and roll without ever going anywhere. In other words, BB-8 can roll in place so that he doesn't take off on you.
This feature is extremely useful when using many of BB-8's features, such as the AR Experience (holographic tour of the starship Raddus) or just pressing the various command icons in the app that control BB-8's cool sound effects.
Similarly, if you're using your BB-8 in limited space, such as on a desk or tabletop, you certainly won't want him zipping off on you, and the Droid Trainer will definitely see to that.
Of course, BB-8 has many other cool features thanks to the newly released Sphero Droids App, so come on in and see for yourself. If you're a fan of the modern Star Wars films, I'm pretty sure you're going to love this little droid!
