Buy from Apple - (affiliate link) - The new 2015 Apple TV is a big improvement over the prior version and a good choice for those with a lot of investment in Apple's app, music, and video stores.

What's nice is that Apple is providing content from iTunes as well as other apps in its search features. It's possible to search through Netflix exclusively using Siri search as an example. Siri functionality is nice but not groundbreaking.
I do like the remote quite a bit - the touch pad is very nice to use. Like many Apple touch devices the new remote is very good at understanding the user's intention. They have some nice features that 'lock' the cursor over icons to account for accidental thumb movements before a click as an example.
The app store selection looks pretty nice so far. I was pleased to see that apps I already purchased on my iPad are available for the AppleTV for no additional charge. That's not to say all apps will follow that path but many likely will.
Is the AppleTV groundbreaking? No. Refined ? Yes. It's probably the best choice for those who use iPhones and iPads and have a lot of content purchased on the platform.
