/ The walled town of Carcassonne in the southwest corner of France is a beautifully-preserved medieval village with a castle in the center and narrow, winding cobblestone lanes. The whole place is like a castle because it surrounded by 2 concentric fortified walls and within the walls we find the small village, a half-mile across with original buildings preserved from the 15th century. It's an amazing town to visit, one of the most magical medieval villages you've ever seen. You'll see how easy it is to walk around inside the village and get a nice feeling for the history; and there's enough there that you could easily spend a day or two days just wandering in looking at the shops and then taking a walk in the little back lanes.
In this episode we will take you inside the castle then walk around the wall with a local guide, and bring you on walks through the streets of the Old Town.
