Belkin's WeMo Maker at CES 2014
At International CES 2014, Belkin's WeMo platform of connected home products grew to include a hacker-friendly module called the WeMo Maker. The device allows you to switch up to 36 volts DC or take readings from 5 volt analog sensors. All of this can done remotely through the Internet with Belkin's app via their cloud service. For local control, you can use the WeMo SDK to roll your own service if you prefer. In the video above, I got a quick overview of the WeMo Maker from the Jake Whisler, a Belkin Product Manager. They expect that the device will be available this summer. No pricing information is available yet.
