In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew conducts a field test of the O2 drone from GDU: the Global Drone Union. The crew notes that the O2 drone achieves GPS lock very quickly and that there are two methods for arming and launching the drone. Next, the crew demonstrates GPS position hold with a hover test, followed by a comparison of aircraft maneuverability in standard and sport mode. The O2 incorporates an optical, forward collision-avoidance system, which prevents the aircraft from flying into a solid object. Mounted on a three-axis gimbal, the O2 carries a camera built around a one-third inch CMOS sensor, capable of capturing 4K video and 13 megapixel stills. Video and still images are stored in 16 gigabytes of internal memory. Content can be downloaded either through the micro-USB port at the rear of the aircraft, or via the GDU Mini app, which is available for both Android and iOS devices. The testing concludes with a gimbal stability test as well as a flight endurance test.
