This is an update to the Lumenier QAV250 build that I have been working on part time. In the video, I go over some of the early considerations of the build as well as some of the changes that I have made since. In particular are some of my comments on the components which I purchased from Flightclub, which are 3D prints made specifically for the QAV250.
First off, I wanted to just go with the standard QAV250 build. I guess I wanted to go with some components that I could measure as a base to test fly, using some PIDS and tuning that are available already on the Internet for my first mini quad. I am pretty sure that after a short while I will realize that I have fully overloaded this quad with heavy components, bringing the weight up to the point where I need larger motors. So, I have purchased larger motors already. I have also purchased some 20 amp ESCs to go along with them. So, I will be upgrading this quad. But I wanted a solid base to start with. I also have gone with a decision to fly on 3S for my first 250. I know that the power and burst will be way down on this, but I have to learn how to fly this thing in Horizon or Angle or Rate mode without putting it in to the ground every single session before I can step my game up to 4S. I am trying to be realistic here. I have also made an important decision to depart from my original flight controller and OSD stack, and move to another one. So, I once was using the full naze32 with the MinimOSD. Now I have instead decided to have Quad Questions build me a "Cube Stack", which consists of both an Acro naze32 Rev6, and the OSDoge 1.5, soldered up with pin headers with my preferences for voltages on vTx and Cam. So that part is done right.
In this video I make a number of observations of 3D printed parts which I have purchased from Flightclub. I thought that they looked cool, and wanted to see them on my first 250. But they are not exactly all a direct fit to my specific build (as will likely be the case with yours), and so I make a number of comments on these individual parts (four in particular PDB cover, X4R receiver mount, motor guards, Lipo firewall). I had to modify practically all of them in some way or another. But it is OK in the end, as they have all managed to make it to the final build.
I will be adding another video to the end of this one, just due to some more footage that I added that would have made this one too long.
Thanks for watching.
